JSC expected to recommend that Lavi Rokoika to leave FICAC as she was not appointed under FICAC Act

JSC expected to recommend that Lavi Rokoika to leave FICAC as she was not appointed under FICAC Act

Who will legally head FICAC is the biggest question now as current Acting Commissioner, Lavi Rokoika was not recommended to President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu by the Judicial Services Commission as required under the FICAC Act.

Based on this, the assessment of fijivillage News is that the JSC will recommend to the President this morning that Rokoika is not the legally appointed Acting FICAC Commissioner and she should leave the office.

This is also based on the High Court ruling of Justice Dane Tuiqereqere where he had said that the JSC is expected to decide on Rokoika and also on Barbara Malimali as Malimali's removal as FICAC Commissioner by the President on the advice of the Prime Minister was unlawful.

The JSC did not recommend Rokoika's name to the President, and we know that she was also not part of the shortlist for the job.

All this is expected to develop today as the JSC gives it's recommendation to the President this morning.

Stay with us for developments.
