The Fiji Airways Men's National 7s side has topped their pool after edging France 26-24 in their last pool match at the Hong Kong 7s this afternoon.

Fiji scored through Nacani Boginisoko, season-leading try scorer Vuiviawa Naduvalo, and Apete Narogo with a double.

France replied through Diego Miranda, Jordan Sepho, Ali Dabo, and Simon Desert.

It was an intense match as the lead changed hands several times, with neither team being able to fully control the game.

The Osea Kolinisau-coached side led 19-12 at halftime.

The second half saw Fiji taking an early lead after Naduvalo sidestepped the defence to score under the sticks, but France quickly replied, keeping themselves within reach.

Indiscipline cost France the game after they were shown a yellow card which Fiji capitalised on.

Fiji had easily dispatched Germany 42-5, defeated Great Britain 24-10.

The Cup quarterfinals start at 10.03 tonight.

The Cup semifinals are at 6pm tomorrow, while the Cup final is at 11.14pm.

In other games, Germany pipped Great Britain 17-14, South Africa thrashed Argentina 38-0, Spain thumped Uruguay 21-0.
