History will be made this Saturday when the McDonald's Fiji Drua Women host the Super Rugby Women's Grand Final on home soil for the first time, with the club calling on fans from across the country to be part of the occasion.
Fijian Drua Head of Commercial and Marketing Shane Hussein says the final is not only a milestone for the club but for Fiji, as it marks the first time the country will host the competition's decider.
Hussein says although the Drua finished at the top of the table in 2022, they were not eligible to host the grand final because the competition was then exclusively Australian.
He says Rugby Australia has since recognised the success of the Drua Women, allowing the team to earn the right to host the final by finishing at the top of the table and winning their semi-final.

He says the final will be played as a double-header, with the Ba and Lautoka women's teams featuring in the curtain-raiser, making the venue's infrastructure an important consideration.
Hussein stressed that while Lautoka has become the Drua Women's fortress, the club wanted to give Ba the opportunity to host such a significant match and gain experience staging major rugby events.
The grand final kicks off at 1pm on Saturday at 4R Stadium in Ba, with tickets priced at $5, $10 and $15.
