Fijiana players need to improve their discipline around the rucks - Walker

Fijiana players need to improve their discipline around the rucks after conceding numerous penalties in that area during their previous matches.

This was highlighted by Fijiana coach Richie Walker in an interview with fijivillage News from Vancouver.

Walker says the team was very clinical with their kick-offs during the Dubai and Cape Town tournaments, but that consistency slipped in the last tournament.

He adds that the players are now focusing on maintaining possession, which is crucial for success.

Walker emphasised that without the ball, it is impossible to win games.

He says the team has been working hard to improve consistency in attack and that the players are ready for the upcoming match.

The Fijiana team will face Australia in their first match at 9.31am, before meeting the USA at 12.57pm and Canada at 4.46pm in their final pool match.

The women’s semi-final will be held at 9.17am tomorrow, with the final at 2.05pm.
