Fijian conjoined twins Jesipeli and Di Cecea Kikau have safely reached Saudi Arabia, where they will undergo specialist medical assessments to determine whether they are suitable candidates for separation surgery.
The twins were born at the CWM in Suva alongside their sister, Hossana, and have since captured the hearts of many Fijians with their remarkable journey.

The Ministry of Health says the twins' family had searched for treatment overseas, but surgery costing more than US$1 million was beyond their reach.

They say the family was later accepted into the Saudi Conjoined Twins Programme, which is fully funded by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and covers all medical treatment, travel and accommodation costs for the twins and their family.

The sisters, who are from Nausori, were born as part of an extremely rare set of triplets and are joined at the chest, abdomen and pelvis. Their condition is one of only two publicly recorded cases of conjoined twins in Fiji over the past 50 years.

The twins and their family reached Riyadh yesterday and were transferred to King Abdullah Specialist Children's Hospital, where a team of specialists from the Saudi Conjoined Twins Programme will assess their condition.
The assessment will determine whether separation surgery is possible and the next steps in the care of the two Fijian girls.
Dr Abdullah Al Rabeeah, who heads the Saudi Conjoined Twins Programme, thanked the Saudi leadership for supporting the humanitarian initiative.
The Saudi Conjoined Twins Programme has assessed more than 158 complex conjoined twin cases and successfully separated 72 sets of conjoined twins from more than 28 countries, giving hope to families facing some of the world's rarest and most challenging medical conditions.
The twin's family has also expressed their gratitude to the Saudi leadership and people for the warm welcome and for giving their daughters the opportunity to receive specialised medical care.
