Fiji must continue to embrace unity in diversity and ensure development reaches every family, from urban centres to rural and maritime communities, as the country celebrates 56 years of independence.
This is the message from Minister for Public Works, Meteorological Services and Transport Ro Filipe Tuisawau as he calls for a stronger, more united and prosperous Fiji.
Ro Filipe says Fiji Day is a time to reflect on the country's journey as a nation, celebrate its achievements and renew its commitment to building a stronger, more united and prosperous Fiji.

He says the enduring pillars of the Vanua, church and the government, representing the land and people, faith and governance, are at the heart of the nation.
He says these values remind Fijians of the importance of respecting their traditions, strengthening their communities, upholding their faith and working together for the common good.
Ro Filipe says that, as a nation, Fijians must continue to embrace unity in diversity, respect one another and ensure development reaches every family.
He says the Government remains committed to building a resilient Fiji through improved roads, bridges, water infrastructure, transport connectivity and essential services that uplift communities and create opportunities for future generations.
He says Fijians can honour the sacrifices of those who came before them by working together to build a better Fiji for their children and future generations.

Ro Filipe also extends his warmest Fiji Day greetings to all Fijians, both at home and abroad.
