Family member says pack of dogs chases SCC worker to his death

A Narere family is coming to terms with the tragic death of a Suva City Council worker yesterday while he was carrying out his duties in Nasese after a pack of dogs chased him, resulting in him attempting to grab onto a moving SCC garbage truck but allegedly slipping and falling before being run over by the vehicle.

The man's brother-in-law, Sunil Prasad says the victim, a 40-year-old father of two, was the family's sole breadwinner and described him as a hardworking family man.

Prasad claims the post-mortem examination found that the truck allegedly ran over the victim's chest after he fell.

The SCC is aware of the incident and will respond soon on the circumstances surrounding the death of the man.

We have sought a response from the police.
