The festive spirit was shared with elderly residents of the Golden Age Home in Lautoka, who enjoyed a special Christmas dinner and received gifts yesterday in a heartwarming celebration of the season.

The Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection says the event was carefully planned and coordinated by the Home’s dedicated carers and welfare officers, ensuring residents felt valued and included during the festivities.

They say that there was live entertainment by the Golden Oldies Band from Lovu Hart, which brought smiles and cheer to residents.

Special acknowledgement was also given to S. Nagindas for generously providing the residents’ kalavata for the occasion, contributing to the success of the celebration.

The Ministry says carers went the extra mile by decorating the Home, transforming it into a warm and festive space where residents could fully enjoy the Christmas spirit.

The celebration highlighted a shared commitment to the care, dignity and wellbeing of senior citizens, reinforcing the importance of ensuring older persons in the community feel loved, respected and remembered, especially during the festive season.
