Baravi calls on youths to stay away from meth

18-year-old Varinisese Baravi of Macuata is urging young people to stay away from methamphetamine, saying the dangerous drug is destroying lives, families and communities.

Speaking to fijivillage News during the FMF Duavata Crime Prevention Carnival, where she is representing Tanoa Electrical, Baravi says methamphetamine is a deadly drug that can take people's lives and seriously damage a person's health.

She says unemployment and peer pressure are among the main reasons why many young people get involved in drugs, with some spending time on the streets and eventually falling into drug abuse.

Baravi is encouraging young people to take part in sports, community activities and seek employment, saying these positive activities can help keep them away from drugs.

Her message to young people is simple: stay away from drugs and say no to methamphetamine.
