Bail hearing for former Fiji football player scheduled for Monday
A former Fiji and district-level football player will have his bail hearing on Monday.

The matter was called before Magistrate Yogesh Prasad this morning.

The investigating officer objected to bail, saying she needed time to file a bail opposition affidavit.

Defence lawyer Jitendra Reddy argued that the interests of the accused should also be considered.

He told the court that the 25-year-old has completed his law degree and was due to represent Rewa in the Fiji FACT.

Reddy also says his client maintains that the allegations against him are false.

The accused is charged with three counts of rape, two counts of assault, and one count of sexual assault.

It is alleged that the offences were committed against his then-girlfriend last year.
