A vision that has been years in the making has taken a major step forward, with the Assemblies of God Fiji officially beginning construction of its new church headquarters at Lot 1 Anand Street in Suva.
The seven-storey building, valued at $17.9 million, is expected to become a central hub for the church’s administration, ministry work and programmes across Fiji.
AOG Fiji General Secretary Reverend Filikesa Koroivueta says the project is the result of years of planning and a vision carried forward by previous church leaders.
Koroivueta says the new headquarters will provide the church with a permanent home and give members a greater sense of belonging and pride.
He says one of the biggest challenges has been bringing members together to understand and support the vision, as a project of this scale requires collective commitment.
Koroivueta says the $17.9 million project will be funded by AOG members in Fiji and members of the Fijian diaspora, with no external donors involved at this stage.
Construction is expected to begin immediately following the groundbreaking ceremony, with the new headquarters expected to be completed within 15 months.
He says the new facility will serve as an important milestone for the Assemblies of God Fiji as it continues its ministry work across the country.
The new AOG Fiji church headquarters is expected to be completed in 2027.
