The Karoko Village Youth group in Cakaudrove have taken the initiative to construct the village footpath to ensure their elderly are not stepping on muddy grounds and to showcase their hidden skills.

The youth group has made this initiative a priority this year.

Karoko Youth Coordinator Josefa Matanagasau says the youths in their village have banded together with this initiative to construct footpaths since there are a lot of elderly people living in the village, and they need to avoid stepping on muddy soil.

Matanagasau says the youths are also showcasing their skills with this project, and villagers can see the great work that has been done so far.

He also acknowledged the contribution of the World Bank through the Ministry of Finance in providing funding to their youths to carry out a few projects in their village.

He adds their plan is to do more projects that will help the village's development.
