Young breaks Fiji National Swimming record in World Championship, moves up to 33rd in World rankings

Team Fiji swimmer Tolu Young broke a Fiji national record in the 50m butterfly event during the 2024 World Aquatics Swimming Championship that is currently underway in Budapest, Hungary, coming in with a time of 23.11 seconds.

Young bettered his time by 1.36 seconds which saw him move up the rankings to 33rd in the world.

The record-breaking swim also saw him winning heat 4 of the event last night.

The World Aquatics Swimming Championship continues tonight.
