The Ministry of Education has today clarified that the Year 6 external examination results have not been recalled.
Education Minister Doctor Mahendra Reddy reveals that the results which were sent out to schools and district officers last week were provisional results.
Doctor Reddy has clarified that the provisional results were sent to schools to clarify why some students got zero marks in some subjects.
He says some students did not write their index numbers or had written the wrong index number while some students did not register for the Year 6 exam.
The Minister confirms that schools will have to look for these students so that adjustments can be made to their overall results.
Doctor Reddy says they are planning to distribute the confirmed results by Thursday or Friday.
Meanwhile NFP parliamentarian, Prem Singh had said in parliament that he received calls from concerned parents of Year 6 students as well as management of schools who are still awaiting results of Intermediate Examinations released last Friday.
Singh says a school management member told him that even in cases where results have been made available, it contains errors.
Singh says some A‑grade English students had received zero marks in this subject.
He says this needs urgent clarification by the Education Minister.
