Year 11 student of Xavier College, Aliha Anshira Nisha will now get a chance to travel to either India or France to visit the Parliament in that country and learn about their constitutions after receiving the first prize of the 2016 Constitution Essay Competition last night.
Nisha highlighted in her essay that the eradication of discrimination will build solidarity between people.
She says that having an equivalent say when it comes to choosing ones leader will enable the people to put their trust in the governing body.
Nisha adds that unity is what eventually leads towards peace and development.
Nisha also won a HP laptop, Samsung Galaxy Tablet, photocopier for her school and $1,000 cash prize which will be deposited into a HFC Bank account in her name.
Second place winner Jessica Chan who chose to speak on 'Moving Fiji Forward with equality' says she was usually the victim of racial discrimination.

Director of the Human Rights Commission Ashwin Raj says they were impressed by the quality of the essays as some of them were truly inspiring.
He says that the competition next year will be expanded to include adults.
Year 13 student of South Taveuni Secondary School, Avikesh Asish received the 3rd place award and was awarded a HP laptop, Samsung Galaxy Tablet, photocopier for his school and $750 cash prize which will be deposited into a HFC Bank account in his name.
The 4th place award was awarded to Deepsha Lal of Penang Sangam in which he was also awarded a HP laptop, Samsung Galaxy Tablet, photocopier for her school and $500 cash prize which will be deposited into a HFC Bank account in her name.
Meanwhile, Jolami Rakaisau a class 5 student at Navoli Sangam School won first prize in the Art Competition for students in years 1-6.
He was awarded a Samsung Galaxy Tablet, photocopier for his school and $1,000 cash prize which will be deposited into a HFC Bank account in her name.
Class 2 student of Waidamudamu S.D, David Bradburg was awarded a Samsung Galaxy Tablet, photocopier for her school along with $1,000 cash prize which will be deposited into a HFC Bank account in his name while class 4 student of Barotu Primary School, Kashvi Kumar was also awarded the same.
4th place winner Zayeer Zain Ali a class 5 student of Varavu Muslim Primary and 5th place winner Josaia Naitulagi a class 5 student of Tabia S.D Primary were both awarded a Samsung Galaxy Tablet, photocopier for his school and $500 cash prizes which will be deposited into a HFC Bank account in their names.
