A 36-year-old woman is in police custody after she allegedly stabbed a 34-year-old man during a drinking party in Kashmir, Lautoka, yesterday morning.

Chief Operations Officer Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abdul Khan says the woman stabbed the man several times with a kitchen knife.

The man has received medical attention as Police investigations continue.

ACP Khan says alcohol is often linked to many serious crimes as we are in the festive season.

He reiterates the Fiji Police Force message on the need to consume alcohol responsibly and in moderation, as excessive consumption often leads to trouble.
