Woman in critical condition after suffering burns in Narere fire

A woman who was a victim of yesterday's early morning fire in Navosai, Narere is alive and remains admitted in the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

Four people died in this tragic incident.

Police Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro said miscommunication between Hospital officials and investigators confirming the woman's death is what led to the regrettable error.

Naisoro said the Fiji Police force wishes to extend its deepest and sincerest apologies to the victim's family and would like to assure them that all possible actions are being taken to look in to the matter, as well as bringing justice to the family in terms of the investigations.

One of the deceased persons in the fire is a ten year old child.

Meanwhile, Chief Intelligence and Investigations, ACP Henry Brown said there is a strong suspicion that it was arson.

They were trapped in the burning house when the fire started after midnight.

Two suspects are in Police custody.
