Woman found with injuries at apartment in Suva says wounds were from broken glass, not from partner

The woman who Police have been looking for after she left the hospital while being treated for injuries that were allegedly inflicted by her partner has reached out to fijivillage News and said that the injuries were not from her partner.

The woman, who refused to be named, says the injuries that were visible on her body when Police found her outside an apartment in Suva were not inflicted by her partner but were from broken glass that she tripped on while drinking with her partner at the apartment in the early hours of Sunday morning.

She says she reached out to Police for help because of the wounds on her body but there was no stabbing by her partner.

She adds that while at the hospital, she had to leave because there were delays in the service by the nurses and she had to go see her daughter.

The woman has also confirmed that she had withdrawn the case at the Totogo Police Station.

Meanwhile, Police have told fijivillage News that the case was not withdrawn and investigations continue.

Police have also denied that the victim went to Totogo Police Station yesterday to withdraw the case.
