Winston Hill defends IBO Welterweight title after split points decision win over O’Shea

Asia Pacific IBO Welterweight Champion and Fiji’s boxing sensation Winston Hill successfully defended his title with a split points decision win over Australia’s Lachlan O’Shea in the main bout of the South Pacific Boxing promotion tonight.

Two judges scored in favour of Hill while one scored in favour of O’Shea.

The match had everyone on the edge of their seats as both fighters landed heavy shots on each other from the first round till the last.

Meanwhile, in other title fights tonight, Fiji’s Sebastian Singh suffered a 7th round knockout against Tonga’s King Tongotongo in the IBO Asia Pacific Cruiserweight category, Ubayd Haider lost to China’s Runqi Zhou in the IBO Featherweight title fight after he suffered a 9th round knock out.

In other contests, Fiji’s Super Middleweight Champion Siliveni Nawai defended his title against Jonathan Hill with a round 7 knockout win.

In the 4x3 minutes bouts, Mikaele Madigibuli defeated Amit Chand with a 2nd round knockout, Apenisa Naciqa lost to Marika Kavika with a 4th round knockout, Abhay Chand Jnr knocked Vitori Cavalevu out in the 2nd round.

In the female contest, Miriama Wati lost to Maureen Chand by unanimous points decision.

In the international bout, Vanuatu’s Roy Serr knocked Jese Ravudi out in the 4th round.
