Weather Office confirms Tropical Depression is slowly moving away from the Fiji group

The Nadi Weather Office Forecasters have confirmed that according to the projected path of the Tropical Depression it is expected to remain to the East of Fiji slowly move away from the Fiji group.

A gale warning remains in force for Northern Lau Group.

A storng wind warning remains in force for Eastern Vanua Levu Taveuni and nearby smaller islands and Lomaiviti group.

The Weather Office says that the Tropical Depression was located 80km North of Udu Point and about 160km East-Northeast of Labasa as at 4pm today. 

They say the Tropical Depression has average winds of 55km/hr and is moving South East at about 22km away from Fiji.

The Weather Office says that on the projected path the centre of the Tropical Depression is expected to be located at about 420km East-Southeast of Lakeba or about 320km East-Southeast of Udu Point at 4am tomorrow.
