We will continue to uphold standards in the collation and dissemination of official statistics -  Kemueli Naiqama

The Fiji Multi-Indicator Cluster Survey 2020 – 2021 Publicity and Awareness Programme started today.

While speaking during the World Statistics Day Celebration, Fiji Bureau of Statistics Chief Executive Officer, Kemueli Naiqama says the information will cover the following areas - questions for women (age group 15-49), questions for Men(age 15-49), questions for Children (age 5 -17), Children under 5 and question on water quality – drinking water.

Naiqama says there will be 16 teams comprising of 7 officers in a team and they will be going throughout Fiji.

He adds the teams will undertake the necessary specialized training to carry out this work, starting with their internal staff in testing the questionnaire out in the field next month and the data collectors in January to February next year.

Naiqama says the data collection activity will be for 6 to 8 weeks, taking into account the COVID- 19 pandemic restriction that may arise during that period.

Naiqama adds they will continue to uphold standards in the collation and dissemination of official statistics.
