Minister for Infrastructure and Meteorological Services, Lands and Mineral Resources, Jone Usamate says they have shed light on the black economy and the black economy has dissipated over the years.

He made the comments while supporting the consequential bills.

Usamate says SODELPA Leader Viliame Gavoka has questioned the taxation policies that the government has brought in and Gavoka is interpreting the taxation policies as detrimental to the people.

He adds they recall that a few years ago when Fiji had high tax rates, one of the problems was that so much of the economy was in the black economy.
