While it has not been easy to get information on our opponents in the Olympic Men’s 7s competition, Team Fiji Men’s 7s Coach, Gareth Baber says they have done some analysis of teams such as Great Britain, Japan and Canada.
These teams will be our pool opponents.
Baber says getting information on these teams have been difficult but there were some tournaments these teams have played in.
He further says he strongly believes in knowing their opposition to better knowing themselves.
The Fiji Men’s 7s team will begin their defence of the Olympic gold medal against Japan at 12pm next Monday and then play Canada at 8pm.
Fiji will play Great Britain at 12.30pm next Tuesday.
The quarterfinals will start at 8.30pm next Tuesday, the semi-finals will be played from 2pm next Wednesday while the final will be played at 9pm next Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Men’s soccer competition will start tonight.
New Zealand will play South Korea at 8pm while Mexico will take on France at the same time.
Egypt battles Spain at 7.30 tonight while Côte d'Ivoire will face Saudi Arabia at 8.30 tonight.
