We Unite Party says they will only speak in the Bau dialect of the iTaukei language as it is one of their policies to bring back all the things about the iTaukei community.

Leader of We Unite Party who is a former FijiFirst MP and former Deputy Speaker, Ruveni Nadalo says they are speaking in the iTaukei language because they want the MPs to be given freedom in Parliament to speak in the language they want.

The current parliamentary standing orders only allow the English language to be used.

He says whenever a Member of Parliament speaks in his or her own dialect, there is a point of order raised by Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

While responding to the Prime Minister’s statement during the Macuata Provincial Council meeting, Nadalo says the party does not support what the Prime Minister is saying because the Opposition has been bringing some good ideas to Parliament.

He says the downside is that the FijiFirst Government does not listen.

Nadalo says the Prime Minister and Attorney General are wrong when they said that other parties are not giving any alternative budgets, as in 2018, the Leader of Unity Fiji Party, Savenaca Narube had given an alternative budget, but it was crushed by this Government.

He adds the PM has been attacking the Opposition everywhere he speaks during Provincial Council Meetings and claims he is also campaigning in these meetings.

We Unite Party was founded by Nadroga high chief, Na Turaga Na Ka Levu, Ratu Tevita Makutu.
