Water supply to affected areas in Nausori has been restored as of this morning.

This has been confirmed by the Water Authority of Fiji who says their team worked around the clock to resolve the issue.

fijivillage News received messages from concerned residents in the Nausori area about having no water the whole of yesterday and schools in Nausori had to close down at 10am due to this issue.

WAF says they appreciate the residents’ patience and understanding on this matter.

However, WAF says customers currently receiving water through the Sawani DN250 pipeline are still being supplied from the Waila Water Supply System.

They add this is a necessary interim measure while they await the concrete thrust block at the repair site to fully cure and once it is ready, they will safely transition supply back to the Viria System later today.

WAF further says they successfully normalised all valve settings for the Rewa Water Supply System last night, except for customers supplied via the damaged Viria-Sawani interconnection pipeline.

They say their teams continue to monitor and manage the system to ensure steady water distribution, and as of this morning, reservoir levels remain above their normal operating conditions, providing stability to the overall supply.

WAF says however, if any customers or specific areas are still experiencing disruptions, they should reach out to WAF directly so that they can address them as a priority.
