Wait a Little Longer
The Prime Minister's Office said that disclosures such as how much each member of the National Council for Building a Better Fiji has received in allowance must follow proper procedures.

The statement comes after the ousted Opposition Leader Mick Beddoes called on the Head of Technical and Support Secretariat, John Samy to disclose what each NCBBF member has received in allowance to date and to publish the names of all members from the joint chairs down including the overseas and local group of consultants together with the cost for each person and amounts paid to them.

The PM's Office said that it appreciates the public's call and right to be fully informed of the financial operation of the NCBBF however such disclosures must follow appropriate procedures and an important aspect of such procedures is time.

The Statement reads that the financial accounting report of any government project is compiled at the end of the financial year of the completion of the project and the report is audited by the Auditor General and presented to Cabinet.

It said that the NCBBF/TASS financial report will follow the same procedure and Beddoes and other interested parties will have to wait a little longer before the Interim Government can disclose the amount.
