The Committee of Walk On Walk Strong Fiji is in the process of registering a new charitable organisation in order to access close to half a million dollars which is frozen in the Fiji Cancer Society accounts.

The new organisation will be known as WOW Kids Fiji.

WOWS Fiji, Chairperson, Makrava Wilson said it will take around three months to register the organisation and they are confident that funds raised for cancer patients will be forwarded to them.

Wilson said they are also working with the Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority to sort out the taxation process.

He said they are also hoping for a tax exemption once registration is confirmed.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Cancer Society Interim Trustees had made

recommendations for WOWS Fiji to register as a separate organisation and to obtain their own tax exempt status.

Earlier in the week, Fiji Cancer Society Interim Trustees Chairperson, Nazhat Shameem had said they had several meetings with WOWS organising committee and had made recommendations.
