Vodafone Fiji Limited today handed over a record dividend cheque of $40 million to the Fiji National Provident Fund and ATH who are their major shareholders.

Vodafone CEO Pradeep Lal says this dividend payment is for the last financial year ending on 31st March 2017 and is the largest dividend payout that they have made to their shareholders.

Lal says despite competition in the telecommunication sector, the company turnover has increased significantly to around $300 million in the last financial year.

He says the 2017/2018 financial year has been a phenomenal year for Vodafone Fiji Limited and they surpassed the shareholder expectations in performance of operational returns.

FNPF’s Chairman Ajith Kodagoda says its excellent news for FNPF that a 100 percent locally owned entity is able to payout such lucrative dividend to its shareholders which benefits the ordinary Fijians who are members of FNPF.

Kodagoda says Vodafone Fiji has been a star performer in the portfolio of investments held under FNPF delivering impressive returns on FNPF member funds over a sustained period.
