Fijian Holdings Limited has recorded $1.09 billion in total assets for the 2026 financial year, crossing the $1 billion mark for the first time, although some of its businesses continue to face financial and operational challenges.
FHL Chief Executive Officer Jaoji Koroi highlighted this while addressing shareholders at the company's 2026 Annual General Meeting.
Koroi says the Group's total assets have reached $1.09 billion following years of investment and business development.
However, he acknowledges that the company must now focus on ensuring its investments generate stronger and more sustainable returns for shareholders.
Koroi says the Group recorded improved profitability despite rising fuel prices, higher operating costs and slower economic growth in Fiji.
He says the increased ownership of Port Denarau Marina Limited contributed to the Group's improved financial performance and strengthened its involvement in Fiji's tourism industry.
Koroi also highlights that FHL Tower has reached full occupancy and is now generating income.
However, he acknowledges that some of the Group's other investments continue to face challenges.
Koroi says Fletcher Higgins (Fiji) Limited required significant intervention following the departure of its former strategic partner.
He also identifies Fiji Television and Life Cinema as businesses requiring closer attention from the Board.
Koroi says the company will consider measures to improve their performance, strengthen operations and explore restructuring where necessary to protect shareholders' investments.
Meanwhile, he highlights investments in Nawaibuta in Korovou, Cakaudrove Provincial Holdings Company in Savusavu, CBayview Enterprises in Kalabu and Uluqoro Investment in Muaivuso.
Koroi says these investments are part of FHL's efforts to support greater participation by resource owners in economic development.
He stresses that expanding the Group's investment portfolio must be accompanied by responsible financial management and stronger returns for shareholders.
Koroi says stronger management, accountability and careful investment decisions will be essential as FHL continues to grow.
