Visually impaired people to benefit from $23,090 funding from Vodafone ATH

The United Blind Persons of Fiji received $23,090 worth of funding from the Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation, which will benefit the visually impaired people and their livelihoods through two vital projects.

The United Blind Persons of Fiji has two transformative projects which is the "Hope for Life" and the "Work with Confidence," to ensure lives of its members are uplifted with better opportunities.

The Office Manager of UBP, Senimilia Seru says the "Hope for Life" Project received a generous funding of $15,090 to purchase new musical instruments for the UBP Blind Band through which the members will generate income.

Seru says the "Work with Confidence" Project received $8,000 worth of funding designed to empower individuals with skills and knowledge needed to pursue formal qualifications and employment.

She adds the project aims to equip participants with computer skills, enabling them to engage in various professional pursuits by enhancing their employability, open doors to diverse opportunities and help them build their future.
