Fiji Rugby Union CEO John O’Connor says they will ease former Fijian Drua star and Flying Fijian Alivereti Veitokani into the game and are confident that he will be back stronger than ever.

Veitokani was a standout for the Drua when they won the National Rugby Championship in 2018.

The 28 year old who is injured at the moment is part of the wider Drua squad which is preparing for the 2022 Super Rugby Pacific.

Veitokani is expected return to top-level rugby for the 2023 Super Rugby season and the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

O’Connor says they are committed to player welfare and will help the players overcome serious injuries and return to doing what they love.

Fijian Drua Interim CEO Brian Thorburn says Veitokani is part of the Fijian Drua vuvale and they will work with Fiji Rugby to help him on the road to recovery.
