The issue of land has been used by politicians for far too long to divide the country and the proposals in the draft Peoples Charter could help put an end to this.
Those were the words of Fiji Labour Party Leader Mahendra Chaudhry after he was questioned by a member of the public during consultation on the draft Charter in Nasinu last night.
He said it’s a matter that cannot be left unresolved any longer.
The Labour Leader was also questioned on what the interim government has done to resolve the long standing land problems, to which Chaudhry highlighted that positive steps are already being taken.
It was revealed earlier this week that the Committee on Better Utilization of Land has been able to discuss the renewal of 1,199 land leases which expired over the last decade.
