The United Front for a Democratic Fiji, which is made up of three political parties, is yet to present its petition against the draft constitution as they are still working on gathering signatures.
United Front representative Mick Beddoes has now been selected to be the coordinator of the group and he will also look after the gathering of the signatures for the petition.
We questioned Beddoes today when the petition will be submitted.
Fijivillage also asked him whether the United Front is facing difficulties in gathering signatures which could also result in them handing in their petition to the government after the new constitution is announced.
Beddoes said the three parties had other pressing matters like the registration of the political parties.
The three parties which are part of the United Front are the Social Democratic Liberal Party, the Fiji Labour Party and the National Federation Party.
Meanwhile, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office Colonel Pio Tikoduadua said the new constitution will be ready soon.
