Unions want 110 percent pay rise for civil servants

The Confederation of Public Sector Unions has today asked for a 110 percent pay rise for all the civil servants in the country.

The log of claims sent to the Permanent Secretary for the Public Service Commission Parmesh Chand is signed by Fiji Public Service Association General Secretary Rajeshwar Singh, Fijian Teachers Association General Secretary Maika Namudu and Fiji Teachers Union General Secretary Agni Deo Singh.

FPSA’s Rajeshwar Singh said they hope they receive a response within 14 days, and they want the increase as asked due to the pay rise granted to the officers at Permanent Secretary level.

Meanwhile, no discussions have been held on any pay increments for civil servants.

When Fijivillage asked Public Service Commission Permanent Secretary, Parmesh Chand on other pay reviews after the review and raise for people at the Permanent Secretary level, Chand said he cannot comment on this.
