Uncertain future for officers over 55
Police officers over 55 years face an uncertain future as the Police Commissioner said the disciplined forces are not covered under the stay order on the retirement age to stay at 60.

The Police Commissioner has revealed this morning that the court decision to put a stay order on the retirement age does not cover the police force, military and the Prison Department.

Commodore Esala Teleni said he has sent all the officers who are over 55 years of age on leave.

According to Commodore Teleni the ruling by the Supreme court yesterday was basically a decision for members of the Fiji Public Service Association.

He said the discipline services come under a different act.
