The US Government said they will not be involved in the People's Charter Process as they do not believe that elections should be tied to the People's Charter Process.
However, the US Government goes on to say that the US is ready to support Fiji's return to a democratically elected government however it first needs to see action by the Interim Government to meet its commitment to the Pacific Islands Forum to hold elections by March 2009.
Meanwhile, Australian High Commissioner to Fiji, James Batley in an interview with Fijivillage confirmed that no assistance forthcoming from the Australian Government with the regards to the Draft People's Charter Process.
Batley's comment comes after the NCBBF's Head of the Technical Support Secretariat, John Samy said this morning that they hope the overseas donor countries now come on board to assist in the process.
