The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua went down fighting 27-24 against the Queensland Reds in their Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific game.

The Drua collected the first points in the game through the boots of Frank Lomani to give them a 3-0 lead, however, the Reds responded through a try to Josh Flook in the 10th minute to give the Queensland side a 5-3 lead.

Flook scored his second try before halftime to put the Reds in a comfortable 12-3 lead at the break.

Kitione Salawa was shown a yellow card for a dangerous tackle.

The Reds started the second half with tries from Harry Wilson and Suliasi Vunivalu.

Ratu Rotuisolia scored the Drua's first try in the 53rd minute, and Kalaveti Ravouvou crossed over to close the gap to 24-17.

Tom Lynagh converted a penalty to extend the Reds' lead to 27-17.

Iosefo Masi gave the Drua some hope when he scored in the 70th minute of the match. Masi has now scored a try in every Drua game.

With only a minute to go, Filipo Daugunu managed to dampen the Drua’s forward momentum standing strong over the ball, sealing the victory for the host team.

In another result, the Highlanders beat the Rebels 43-35.
