Two more Tropical Disturbances heading our way

The Nadi Weather Office warns people living in low lying areas that two more Tropical Disturbances located near Vanuatu are heading our way.

Senior Weather Forecaster Misaele Funaki says the first tropical disturbance is now over the Lau waters and is moving away from Fiji.

However the next disturbance will affect us from later today.

Funaki says this will bring a lot of rain again.

A heavy rain warning remains in force for the whole of Fiji.

A flood warning remains in force for Rakiraki Town, Wailotua, Ba River, Sigatoka River, Nadi River, Nadi Town, Wainimala River, Mulomulo, Semo River and Navua River.

A strong wind warning remains in force for the whole of Fiji.

The second Tropical Disturbance is located just east of Vanuatu and is currently moving southeast towards Fiji.

Expect strong west to northwest winds with average speed of 60 kilometres per hour and gusts to 85 kilometres per hour from this afternoon.

This will affect weak structures.
