Two men have been arrested following the discovery of white crystals believed to be methamphetamine in a car in Navua.

Police say the 32 and 38-year-old were travelling in a vehicle when they were stopped and searched by the team of officers.

They say in another cases in Kadavu, a 24-year-old man from Wailevu, Ravitaki was arrested for an alleged case of unlawful cultivation of marijuana.

Police say the officers based at the Kadavu Police Station were deployed to the Wailevu terrain where they uprooted more than 1,500 plants and loose dried leaves all believed to be marijuana.

All seized substances have been sent for analysis.

The Fiji Police Force says they are committed to reducing the supply of illicit drugs with operations in the five policing divisions covering the urban, rural and maritime areas.
