A strong message was delivered by the Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu to parents during the Nadroga Arya College pass-out parade to put away their phones and prioritize their children's well-being.

While addressing the parents, Tudravu says building significant relationships with our children during these modern times is ever so important, and parents must prioritize their lives.

He acknowledged the positive feedback from teachers on their involvement in their children’s educational lives, urging them to keep up the momentum.

The Commissioner says they need to be there for them not only when something is coming up, such as the Cadet training and pass-out, but they need their presence constantly.

While addressing the students, Tudravu stressed the importance of discipline and respect for authority.

Tudravu says the one main takeaway from this cadet program should be the respect for authority, just as they have adhered to the command of authority, whether it be their RFMF instructors, Parade Commander, 2IC, Parade RSM or detachment commanders.

He says the same principle should be applied in their everyday lives.

He also says authority comes in many forms, such as parents, teachers, guardians, laws, school rules, and elders, and sadly, respect for authority is dying amongst our younger generation.

The Commissioner cautioned the students about the company they chose, urging them to stay away from people who lack respect for legitimate authority.

He says those who lack respect are those who do not have boundaries in life.

He adds anyone who lacks respect for authority and social boundaries will not have any respect for them, and their actions will lead to their own outcomes.
