US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama

US President Donald Trump has conveyed his appreciation to Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama for his congratulatory message on the occasion of the 244th anniversary of the United States’ Independence Day.

In a special message from the White House to the Prime Minister, Trump conveyed the gratitude of the American people to Bainimarama for his thoughtful remarks.

The message was delivered by the United States Ambassador to Fiji, Joseph Cella during a courtesy call on the Prime Minister this morning.

In the letter, Trump says the Fourth of July is an especially important day for America as they reflect their history and proud traditions of democracy and freedom.

He says this Independence Day they celebrate and honour the sacrifices made by those who have stood for securing the unalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness throughout America’s history.

Trump says they endeavour to build upon their partnerships with friends and hope that their values and ideals provide inspiration to work together to face any challenges that may lie ahead.
