Trial of the man who allegedly murdered his father to begin in March

The trial of the man who allegedly murdered his father in October 2022 will begin on March 4th in the Suva High Court.

47-year-old carpenter of Manoca Squatter Settlement, Nausori Armogam Goundar is charged with one count of murder.

Goundar allegedly committed the offence while under the influence of alcohol, and he later took his father to the Nausori Health Centre, where medical officials noted visible injuries on the victim.

The matter was reported to Police by health officials.

Gondar was represented by the Legal Aid Commission however, his counsel informed the court that he will be engaging a private counsel.

His bail has been extended.
