The Celebration of Tradition festivals is extremely crucial as it defines the core of our cultural being and at the same time helps us stay connected and grounded to our own culture while adapting to new ones.

This was highlighted by the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa while speaking at the Ribbon cutting Ceremony for the Opening of the Cultural Week of Inner Mongolia and the Photo Exhibition in Celebration of People to People Ties over the Five Years of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Vuniwaqa says traditional celebrations are also an excellent opportunity for intercultural exchange and understanding, whereby both children and adults learn about other cultures through these celebrations.

Vuniwaqa also welcomed the delegation from Inner Mongolia who are in the country for this celebration and also to participate in the celebrations of the National Day of China next Monday.

Meanwhile, Vuniwaqa adds that Fiji Day will be celebrated in the Northern Division with international guests to be part of the celebrations.

The Minister of Women also acknowledged the Government of the Peoples’s Republic of China have done to the Fiji Government so far with their support and helping in many ways by lending a hand whilst letting Fiji determine its own destiny.
