Tourist questioned, room raided
A tourist was questioned and his room raided after he was believed to be a threat to national security.

Police Spokesman Atunaisa Sokomuri said it's a normal police procedure to carry out an investigation after a tip off and the tourist was questioned and later released.

Namaka police confirmed that the tourist was carrying some high tech equipment with his laptop and it was suspected that he may have been transmitting information about Fiji and its situation overseas.

However, when he was questioned by Police he said he was a businessman from Europe who was here in Fiji for business matters.

He flew out of the country yesterday.
