Thousands of people in the greater Suva area are currently facing water disruptions

Thousands of people in the greater Suva area are currently facing water disruptions due to low inflow from the Savura Water Pump to the Tamavua Water Treatment Plant.

Areas affected are Samabula, Fulaga Street, Lakeba Street, Bureta Street, Princes Road, Rewa Street, Howell Road, Nailuva Road, Ratu Sukuna Road, Delainavesi, Lami, Wailoku and Waimanu Road.

The Water Authority of Fiji has confirmed that this is due to blockages in supply as a result of bad weather conditions.

The Authority also urges people to boil drinking water before consuming because of debris and other substances which are in the water.

They say that their staff are currently working on the issue but it is still unclear when supply will be restored.

The Authority says water carting trucks have been deployed to affected areas.
