This is a totally different Flying Fijians team and I’m really proud of their efforts.

Those were the words of Fiji Water Flying Fijians head coach Simon Raiwalui after their 30-24 loss to England in their 2023 Rugby World Cup quarter final match this morning.

Raiwalui says this is just the start of something special and the boys just want to create a new identity for themselves.

He says they committed a few mistakes today and did not take their chances which England capitalised on but he is proud of how they performed today.

Captain Waisea Nayacalevu says they were gutted they did not get the job done but it is a proud moment for them to have reached the RWC quarter final again.

He acknowledged the support from the fans and supporters and said it was not easy for the team as they tried to fight on till the end.

Meanwhile, England will now face the winner of the fourth quarter final between France and South Africa.

In other quarter finals, Argentina beat Wales 29-17 and the All Blacks overcame Ireland 28-24.
