There is a climate of fear but it is important to speak truth to power – Beddoes

Unity Fiji proposed candidate Mick Beddoes

Unity Fiji proposed candidate Mick Beddoes says there is a climate of fear in the country and there has been for some time now but people have to speak truth to power.

He says the usurpers of our democracy in 2006 are in new clothing and are now in government, and systematically instilled measures that oppressed and suppressed the people of this country.

He says the problem that we all have is the tendency to say lets move on and forget about the past but the past will not go away unless we work inside ourselves with the past.

The former Leader of Opposition in Parliament says we are in a dysfunctional society where we do not know right from wrong any more, and people are fearful of being targeted.

Beddoes says he has been calling things out on his Facebook and is calling everything to account.

Beddoes adds Archbishop Peter Loy Chong is absolutely correct and as the church, he stays independent and apolitical but he has to speak out and he admires him for that and others should do likewise.
