People’s Alliance General Secretary, Sakiasi Ditoka

People’s Alliance General Secretary, Sakiasi Ditoka says the complaint filed with FICAC against the People’s Alliance by Sailosi Nataku is an act of desperation by the FijiFirst Party.

Nataku has filed a complaint, claiming the People’s Alliance did not follow the legal procedures while gathering signatures for the registration process.

FICAC confirms it has received the complaint and will need to go through the standard procedure like any other complaint.

They will not be able to comment any further until they complete the formal procedures.

When questioned by fijivillage News, Ditoka says Nataku was a youth member of the People’s Alliance at one stage.

He says Nataku joined from the Hope Party, and later after several incidents that Nataku was involved in, he left the party to join the FijiFirst.

Ditoka says the claims Nataku is making has no resemblance of the truth to the slightest.

The People’s Alliance General Secretary says the due diligence carried out by the late Colonel Lomaloma was of the highest standards, and he made sure that he would seek the confirmation of the Fiji Elections Office staff every step of the way.

Ditoka says the party is absolutely sure about the integrity of the process it used to assess the names that were collected by party volunteers.

He says in fact, thousands of names were discarded because they did not meet the criteria that the party demanded.

Ditoka says thousands more were later received after the application for party registration had already been submitted to the FEO.

He says the proof of the popularity of the party is in the number of seats won.
