The best qualified people are being appointed to lead primary and secondary schools - PM
Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama speaking at the Methodist Church Conference at Centenary Church in Suva

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama stresses that the best qualified people are now being appointed to lead primary and secondary schools rather than the old ways of the past where teachers were appointed because of their religious belief.

While speaking at the Methodist Church Conference at Centenary Church in Suva, Bainimarama says the government believes in appointing people based on merit, not based on race or religion.

Bainimarama says they have moved away from the old way of thinking and they now give the best to all the students in the country.

The Prime Minister says every parent would also want the best teachers to be teaching their children in school.

Bainimarama also stresses that every faith based education institution has the constitutional right to have religious instructions for students.
