People living in Vanua Levu have another option to get high-speed access as Telecom Fiji is set to go live with its Northern Fiber Connectivity Project.

Telecom Fiji says the project will establish a direct fiber link between Labasa and Suva via the Savusavu submarine cable landing station, significantly improving connectivity for businesses and communities in the North.

They say with the all-hands-on-deck effort from Telecom Fiji’s fiber and transmission teams, this initiative is expected to boost digital adoption and create opportunities for emerging technologies in the region.

Chief Technical Officer Mesake Tuinabua saus this transformative project will not only enhance internet speeds but also lay the foundation for further digital innovation in Vanua Levu.

He says it’s a game-changer for businesses, schools, and communities, ensuring they have access to reliable and fast connectivity.

Telecom Fiji has acknowledged the dedication of its staff and the support of its partners, whose efforts have been instrumental in bringing this project to fruition.

They say as Fiji continues to advance its digital landscape, projects like this underscore the importance of strong fiber infrastructure in bridging connectivity gaps and driving economic growth.

Telecom Fiji says the Northern Fiber Connectivity Project is a major milestone for their ongoing mission to expand its network and enhance digital accessibility nationwide.
